Resolution No. 35

To Publish Notice and Establish a Meeting to Consider
Applications for Voluntary Annexation of Adjoining Land

April 4, 2003

WHEREAS, the City has received applications for voluntary annexation of approximately 202 acres of territory as follows:

The South half of the South half of the Northeast quarter of Section Eight (8); the Southeast quarter of Section Eight (8); also a strip of land two rods in width beginning at the Northwest corner of the West half of the Southwest quarter of Section Nine (9), thence East two rods, thence South 160 rods, thence West two rods, thence North 160 rods to the place of beginning, all being in Township Seventy-two (72) North, Range Ten (10) West, containing 202 acres, more or less, in Jefferson County, Iowa. Subject to present existing roads and highways and any easements of record.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that the Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney are requested and authorized to publish notice of the applications for voluntary annexation and to provide notices by certified mail to Jefferson County, the City of Fairfield, Area XV Regional Planning, applicable utilities, and other parties as required by law as to the applications for annexation;

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council shall hold a Special Meeting on Monday, April 28, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at the Mayor’s Residence, 1750 Maharishi Center Ave. to consider the applications for voluntary annexation.
